Title For Fourth Time
Scores 758 out of 800 at NAMM Show
in Los Angeles Jan. 20
Los Angeles, Calif. -- Tucson
drummer Erik Truelove won the
"World's Most Accurate Drummer"
competition for the fourth time in
just over two years at the recent
NAMM show in Anaheim on Jan. 20.

the U.S. and internationally,
competed against hundreds of other
drummers who entered the competition
at the NAMM show last week. He
scored 758 out of a possible 800,
the highest score recorded to date.
The competition involved playing the
same two-bar rhythm for at least one

given three days to record their
best time on the analyzer.

of Music Merchants - show is
attended by more than 70,000
participants, including accomplished
and budding recording artists, music
manufacturers and retailers.
In addition to the accurate
drummer win at the show, Truelove
began discussions with OnBoard
Research about producing an
instructional DVD to accompany each
Beatnik Rhythmic Analyzer, which
will soon be stocked in more than
220 Guitar Center locations around
the country. Truelove also had
discussions with SILVERFOX
drumsticks about an "Erik Truelove"
signature model drumstick, which may
be released later this year.
"The first few times that I won
I was pretty shocked, but I feel
like I am continually improving my
sense of timing and I felt confident
going into this years competition,"
said Truelove, a self-taught drummer
who started playing drums at the age
of 15.
Truelove plays and records with many
artists and has performed throughout
the U.S. and in Europe. He began
teaching students in 1999 and opened
